Every piece in the collection is knit from 100% virgin wool. Not because it's the obvious choice. Because it's the most honest one.

Wool does a lot of things well.

Virgin wool comes directly from the fleece. The protein structure stays intact, and that's why it performs the way it does, and why it ages better than most alternatives.

It keeps you warm when you need it and breathes when you don't. It resists odours and retains its natural resilience.

Wool moves with the body without losing its shape. It responds to care rather than fighting it. Very few fibres behave this consistently over years of real wear.

A material with a point of view

Wool has a history with knitwear because it belongs there. It holds the definition of every stitch. It recovers from compression. It insulates without bulk at the right gauge. Just some of the reasons people have reached for wool for thousands of years.

Plateau starts with wool because it makes beautiful and simple sense. Not because it's traditional. Because it's the elegant solution for what we're making.

No compromises

Other fibres have their place. But for knitwear worn close to the body, worn regularly, and expected to last, wool remains the most considered choice. It softens over time rather than degrading. It can be repaired. It holds its value in a way that synthetic fibres don't.

This is where we begin. Every piece, every season.
